This music was the best! It had great instrumentation, a real message (HIV/ gang violence/ black struggles/ protected sex/ women empowerment...etc) The lyrics were well thought out, the artists actually had talent and barely relied on sex appeal alone to get them ahead. Also genres were specific and easily identifiable
Songs now are just meaningless drivel pushing sexual images and violent, disrespectful attitudes. And everyone these days is an electro artist. I could write a thesis on the difference... Hmmm... *thinking*
